All About Exceed Fighting System
About the Decks
Exceed Fighters each come with their own preconstructed deck containing 2 copies each of 8 basic moves, and 7 special and super moves. This brings us to one of the first points of interest; this is NOT a trading card game. Decks cannot be edited, so once you have a deck, you have all you’ll need for it. This has been a relief for those of us who have played trading card games in the past, and remember the difficulty of picking up certain cards for our collections. Every player gets to know the 7 special and super moves in their opponents deck, and every fighter has the same 8 basic moves, so picking up a new fighter is fairly simple. This also gives room for high strategy plays, as you can essentially know your opponent’s moves, as they know yours. Finally, every card has 2 ways to play it, adding to the options you make on your turn and further enhancing the strategy this game offers.
Currently, Season 5 and 6 are available, featuring fighters from BlazBlue and Under Night In-Birth, but fighters from older series are still viable to play, such as Season 4 Shovel Knight fighters, and fighters from Season 3 Street Fighter. The art is spectacular, and the game has worked many of their fight mechanics into the game both in broad strokes, and in the 7 unique moves in every deck. BlazBlue fighters have an Overdrive mode and Astral Heat attacks, and Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter can both sit back and spam Hadoken from the rear of the play area.
